With Max on drums, Jace on bass, Ryan on lead guitar and vocals Garrett on lead guitar, and Dakota on lead vocals, Breaking 27 is a Los Angeles based rock band of 14-16 year olds. One of a dying breed of young bands who can actually play their own music in a live setting. Navigating through the polished landscape of the music industry, Breaking 27, with it's pop-rock sound and impressive musicianship is a great night of entertainment for parent and kid alike. With a combined set of familiar covers and catchy originals, you will leave a show with a renewed sense of hope for the future live music.
"Breaking 27 steals the show!" - writes Yo! Venice! (referring to a spontaneous gig at the Venice Beach Spring Fling).
The band understands that music is power... as they have used it with the admirable purpose of bringing awareness of the bully problem in our schools. Along with their producer, Mark Dutton they recorded an original song and shot a video that addressed the issue. Their "Break The Bully Tour" through Southern California schools can be viewed here http://www.breaking27.com/tour-bull.html
Breaking 27's efforts have garnished national attention:
• Lee Hirsch, creator and director of the critiacally acclaimed documentary "Bully", has given his full support to the band. Additionally, they were named "Upstanders of the Week" by thebullyproject.com.
• The Peace Fund, an organization designed to promote childrens charities, declared Breaking 27 "Heroes of the Week", recognizing them as kids who are helping other kids.
• They have been featured on both KCAL & FOX news, along with multiple radio stations where they were interviewed about their anti-bully crusade.
With the guidance and support of music producer and industry veteran Mark Dutton Breaking 27 is ready to break new ground as they continue working towards completing their first record and showing the world rock in not dead.
